Donating books

NOTE: In preparation for the Friends' big book sale, our drop off site on NE Knott Street will be closed for donations from Monday, April 22 through Tuesday, April 30.

You can donate materials, in good condition, to the Friends of the Library for their semi-annual Used Book Sales and Friends Library Store. You can also bring a limited number of boxes of materials to your neighborhood library. For information about what materials Friends of the Library is able to accept, please visit the Friends website.

The Friends advocate for and support our public library, providing supplemental funding for library programs and services, and sponsoring activities which engage people who value our library. Learn more about helping out the Friends of the Library.

If you have more than two boxes, bring them to the rear garage entrance to the Isom Building at 216 NE Knott Street. Use the delivery driveway east of the store and ring the buzzer. Donation hours are Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm. If you are unable to deliver your donation or have a very large donation, please call the Friends at 503.988.6191 to make arrangements.

Thank you for donating to the Friends of the Library!  The proceeds help support the Multnomah County Library.
